There are many ways for parents and families to be involved at ACPA—our various committees are one of them. We welcome your
participation; our school community is all the richer for your contributions of time, talents and spirit. If you’d like to be a part of one of these committees or are interested in getting more information about them, feel free to reach out to Ben Shinabery at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW)
The goal of the Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW) occurs during the first full week of May. TAW committee is to make our ACPA teachers feel as special and appreciated as possible. Past examples of TAW activities are coffee cart mornings, catered lunch, and gift baskets. The TAW committee is committed to making Teacher Appreciation Week 2017 the best thank you ACPA teachers have ever seen!
The Teacher Appreciation Week Committee meets on the first Tuesday of every month from 5pm-6pm and communicates regularly via e-mail.
End of the Year Party
We throw a party on the last day of school. In the past, this party has included a cookout, staff vs. seniors basketball game, lip sync battles, and the tradition of the “Senior Clap-Out”.
The End of the Year Party Committee is committed to making the 2017 End of the Year Party the best ever!
The End of the Year Party Committee meets the first Wednesday of every month from 5-6pm.
SpringFest is a new event to ACPA this year. Happening over the course of a Saturday afternoon, student performers will be spread throughout the school and showcase pieces they
have been working on throughout the year. In addition, student artwork will be displayed all throughout the school. SpringFest is on Saturday, April 22, 2017. The SpringFest Committee is commited to making the first year of SpringFest a success!
The SpringFest Committee meets the first Monday of every month from 5-6pm.
ACPA is proud to be a public charter school, however, as such, we only receive two-thirds the funding that public district schools receive. To make up that gap, we leverage the support of our community in a variety of ways. Local businesses sponsor our arts events, local
foundations support us through grantmaking, and individuals throughout our community offer their time, money, or services. The fundraising
committee is committed to connecting all sectors of the Columbus community in order to benefit our students.
The Fundraising Committee meets on the first Thursday of every month from 5pm-6pm and communicates regularly via e-mail.
ACPA Snack Pack
Many times throughout the year we are in need of food and snack donations for special events and performances (Winterfest, Dance Concerts, Vocal Concerts, and all other events held at venues outside of ACPA). We’ll send out a Sign-Up Genius
(through e-mail) listing all our needs 1-2 weeks before each of these events.
